Gem. und Pfarrdorf. Am Born Alamannengräber. K. gehörte zur alten Herrschaft Fridau und kam mit dieser 1463 an Solothurn. Kirchlich gehörte es ursprünglich zu Hägendorf, wurde 1687 davon getrennt und zu einer eigenen Pfarrei erhoben. Die Kollatur gehörte der Regierung von Solothurn. Die alte Wallfahrtskapellezum hl. Kreuz enthält eine bemerkenswerte gotische Holzstatuette der hl. Barbara. Taufregister seit 1782, Eheregister seit 1827, Sterberegister seit 1836.
