Gern, und Pfarrei. Cam pus de Ghirono 1570. Schon im 12. Jahrh. gehörte C. zur allgemeinen Vicinanza von Olivone, C. und Largario. Heute besteht diese Vicinanza noch, die Trennungsgelüste blieben bis jetzt erfolglos. Die Kirche der hl. Agathe wird 1225 erwähnt. Im Liber notitiae Sanctorum Ecclesiae Mediolanensis (13. Jahrh.) ist die Rede von der St. Martins- und St. Hilariuskirche in C.; wahrscheinlich handelt es sich um die Kirche von Ghirone, die 1215 ohne nähere Ortsangabe genannt wird. Die jetzige St. Agathen- und St. Mauritiuskirche hat die ältere ersetzt. Sie geht vermutlich auf das 15. Jahrh. zurück; die Fresken vom Ende des 16. oder Anfang des 17. Jahrh. stam men wahrscheinlich von Tarlili. Beim Besuch von Karl Borromäus (1567) war C. nach Olivone pfarrgenössig; aber infolge der grossen Entfernung der Pfarrkirche wurde der Gottesdienst vom Pfarrer von Ghirone besorgt.
