History

1002 A stlegus. Gegen 1100 Asclens, von einem germanischen Namen, verwandt mit der weiblichen Form Ascila. Zuerst zur Herrschaft Cossonay gehörendes Dorf, dann seit 1410 zur Herrschaft Vullierens. 1665 abgelöst zu Gunsten von Bernard de Budé, der es 1675 für 75 000 Gulden an die Stadt Morges verkauft. Die Kirche, 1228 Pfarrkirche, befand sich im Chiblie-Quartier im N. des Dorfes und gehörte zur Propstei Saint Maire in Lausanne. Im SW des Dorfsprengels heisst ein Feldweg Chem in de la guerre und soll von den Römern gebaut worden sein. Eiii anderer Weg führt den charakteristischen Namenél raz. - D Il V 1, p. 16. [M.
