History

Gem. und Dorf. Leissins 1232; Leisins 1352. Römische Spuren. Im Mittelalter unterstand L. dem Hause Savoyen, gehörte aber doch zur politischen und Kirchgcm. Aigle. Von 1520 an besass es eine eigene Verwaltung. Eine dem hl. Theodul gewidmete Kapelle, Filiale der Kirche von Aigle, wurde 1 445 eingeweiht. Sie besitzt eine Glocke aus dem Jahr 1420. Luftkurortfür Tuberkulöse seit 1890; im gl. J. wurde das Sanatorium «Grand Hotel» gebaut, dem viele andere Heilanstalten folgten. Geburts- u. Sterberegister seit 1702, Eheregister seit [M.
