Dorf und Gem. Montevilla 1141. Fund eines Schalensteins und römischer Ruinen. M. gehörte als savoyisches Lehen zur Herrschaft Les Liées und ging 1536 an Bern über. An der Stelle einer dem hl. Michael geweihten Kapelle, die zu Cuarnens gehörte, entstand 1841 die Kirche in La Praz; 1837 wurde die Kirchgem. Mont la Ville gebildet. — DHV. [M. R.] MONTLEGRAND
