History

Im 11. Jahrh. Valeriis, Valeres. Ortschaft, wo römische Bauten und ein burgundischer Friedhof entdeckt wurden. Im Mittelalter führte eine adelige Familie diesen Namen, die Lehnsleute der Herren von Montagny, später der Herzoge von Savoyen waren.
