| Gem. und Pfarrei. Ucallo 1357; Vacalo 1424; Vachalloj 1467. V. wird 1335 als Gemeinde erw ähn tu. gehört i zum Gericht Balerna. 1424 ordnete es einen Vertreter in den Generalrat von Mendrisio-Bälerna ab. Satzungen von 1569. Pest 1631. 1573 wurde V. eine selbständige Pfarrei und von Balerna abgelöst. Die Pfarrkirche St. Simon und Ju das wurde im 17. Jahrh. am Standort einer alten Kirche aus dem 13. Jahrh. neugebaut; von letzterer besteht noch der Kirchturm. Pfarregister seit 1583. Die Kapelle San ta Croce geht aufs 17. Jahrh. zurück.
